Ralph Gomberg discusses his audition for Stokowski for the All-American Youth Orchestra in 1939; the Orchestra's travel in South America; and Stokowski's aversion to photographers there. He discusses Stokowski's personality, his genius for interpretation, his introduction of new music, and the difficulty of doing that, mentioning Serge Koussevitzky, Saul Caston and others.
